Review of The Raven

Review of The Raven
When a madman begins committing horrific murders inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's works, a young Baltimore detective joins forces with Poe to stop him from making his stories a reality. IMDB

Um, where do I start. I'm not a huge fan of John Cusack but usually I don't mind his movies like Identity and 1408 but this time meh. I was immediately bored with the film and found that he was over acting if that's the right term. The leading lady really wasn't much better.
By the end of the movie I really didn't care who did it or not because I already lost interest way before that.
If you're really bored one night and nothing else is available to watch, I mean nothing then go ahead but if you're planning on watching it skip it, move on to the next, put it down, etc.

Review of The Dark Knight Rises

Review of The Dark Knight Rises

I know I know, that The Dark Knight isn't technically paranormal or supernatural but he does move around the shadows and has some powers.
Okay well to continue OMG
The Dark Knight Rises was amazing. For me this movie had to have been amazing to live up to The Dark Knight which in my opinion is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Heath Ledger as the Joker will always be the best movie villian ever for me.

Now to continue with The Dark Knight rises director. I'm a huge Christopher Nolan fan and he ended this series perfectly. The special effects were amazing, the vehicles that were created for this movie like the motorcycle and the new flying whatever it is was crafted perfectly. I don't know how else to described it than perfectly. Inception was different plus really cool special effects plus Leonardo Dicaprio was in and ladies Leo is like a fine wine he just keeps getting better looking the older he gets :)

Now for the movie. Let's start with Christian Bale as Batman. I was iffy with him in Batman Begins and grew to like him in The Dark Knight but I was geniunly surprised by how much I enjoyed his performance as Batman. His voice when he's Batman does drive me a little nuts, it's like Sean Connery without the Scottish Accent but overall, awesome.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman - This was a tough one for me because personally I love Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman but again I was suprised at how Anne pulled the character of Selina Kyle. Kuddos Anne

Tom Hardy as Bane - Now this one gets tricky. Tom did great with the character he had. I don't know what I was expecting but I wanted Bane bigger and badder and scarier but I just didn't get the Bane I wanted, if that makes any sense to anyone.

Other characters - Loved Gary Oldman, well I pretty well love him in anything he does, hellow Sirus Black, lol. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is really starting to make a big name for himself with The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and his upcoming movie Looper which looks amazing by the way. And for anybody who has watched this movie you will know what I mean when I say plus the future possiblity of a series for himself. Wink Wink lol

Overall I was very happy with this movie and I will make the statement that it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I know that's a big statement to make but it's true.

So if you're reading this and already saw it I hope you agree and if not, watch it, in a theatre, you won't regret it.

True Blood Season 5 Episode 7

True Blood Season 5 Episode 7
In The Beginning

Again True Blood brought us another amazing episode. I'm so happy that they are back on track with because of an iffy episode this season.

So in this episode we find out that Sookie's fairy powers are starting to fade away, the fairies and Jason think it's a horrible thing but not Sookie, Sookie asks the question if they fully go away will she become human. And what a treat after hearing voices in your head all your life. At the end of the episode Sookie starts to deliberately use her fairy powers to the extreme hoping to lose them.

Next Russell, The Remain member of The Authorities Council, Bill, Eric and Reverend Newlin all end up taking a drink of Lilith's blood after Russell kills Roman. I don't trust this Salome and Nora, I really thought Nora was a good one but I think I was wrong on this one. After taking in Lilith's blood they all become drunk with what I think is power. They hit the streets and Russell struts like he owns the place which I think is great. Man I love Russell Edginton.

Then Russell makes it even better by jumping on some stage with some human girl singing along with her for this dinner party of her family watching her. Well these humans become the dinner for the vampires. After pretty well draining every human, including a child the drunk vampires see Lilith arise from a drop of blood.

Now I don't know what anybody else was expecting of Lilith but I was kind of disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting but meh.
I don't know where they are going with this but when Godric appeared to Eric I thought that maybe Eric will be able to withstand the feeding frenzy that Lilith creates.

Last but not least, I am not going to complain about Tara, I know it's crazy. But I am wondering if now since she's a vampire is she going to show up and kill her mother for everything that she did in the past.
Also speaking of Tara, who knows what's going to happen with her cousin Layfayette. With Jesus's grandfather dead and his pregnant wife standing there with a knife, will Layfayette make it out alive? I hope so, I love Layfayette.

So overall an amazing episode and hopefully that shows what's to come for the rest of the season.

San Diego Comic Con

San Diego Comic Con

Well is anybody else sad that they never made it to Comic Con in San Diego this year???
Well I am one sad Living Dead Girl

There was so much to see, so many panels to go to, so many booths to see, so many celebrities to see, so many costumes to see and so many other geeks and nerds to meet. My goal is to be there next year but we will see.

The list of the panels that I most wanted to be at:

1. True Blood

2. Supernatural

3. Vampire Diaries

4. Being Human (The American Version)

I know I'm probably missing some other fabulous shows and if I am I apologize but man I wish I was there :)

I want all readers of this blog to leave a comment telling me what show's panel you wish you were able to sit at. I'm really interested in seeing what my vistors like :)

True Blood Season 5 Episode 6
Hopeless

Well hello Trubies.
Did anyone else enjoy this episode, if so raise your hand LOL
The episode Hopeless was not Hopeless, it was fantastic. It had action, it had suspense, it had comedy (especially Alcide waking up in a pink bed), it was overall a great episode.

So was anybody surprised when the Authority sweeps in taking over the finding of Rusell Edgington right at the so called perfect moment when Eric was going to end him, well I wasn't shocked. But just so everyone knows I love Russell Edgington, I think Denis O'Hare plays him perfectly, and I love him more and more every episode so I hope he doesn't get killed off soon.
Next Sam comes to the rescue, rescuing Andy from almost being shot buy the stupid rednecks that are out killing all the shifters. I was actually shocked that Luna survived because for some reason I thought she was being killed off but I'm not complaining, I like her character, she's not annoying like Tara (sorry I just couldn't help drop that complaint again)
I don't know where they are going with this whole people out to kill shifter thing but it's better than the side story of Terry and the fire demon, lame...

Also I had to mention Alfre Woodard as Ruby Jean Reynolds aka Layfayette's mom. She is absolutely hilarious in every scene she does, I just love her to pieces.

This episode kept me hooked the whole episode and I hope they stay on this track so I give this episode 4 1/2 True Bloods out of 5. Well done

Until next weeks fellow Trubies :)

Just remember we only have six episodes left, I know that's sad but just remember True Blood has been renewed for a sixth season. Woot Woot!!!!

Attention all Walking Dead Fans

Does anyone else wish they were at Comic-Con right now, I do

Even though this show can be a little slow sometimes, I think it's one of the best shows out there right now.
And the thing that sucks is we have to wait until October for the Season 3 premiere

Hope you enjoy this trailer, because I did.

Let the countdown until October begin

True Blood Season 5 Episode 5
Let's Boot and Rally

So what we were all waiting for all season, and last season didn't happen because Sookie who was drunk puked on Alcide :( Poor Alcide

I thought Sookie drunk was hilarious especially when she said something in the area of 'A 3000 year old vampire wants to drink my blood(something like that) it must be Thursday' was funny

Now Bill & Eric are off to find Russell before they are staked by their handy iStakes (pretty cool idea but not good for the vamps)
And shockingly they find Russell looking better than I thought he would have

The episode was good, and surprisingly Tara didn't annoy me like she usually does but this so called sub plot with Terry and this stupid fire monster thing is kind of stupid. I mean it doesn't even really make sense at all and I know it's just filler but at least with the Jason and Andy and fairy sub plot makes sense because of Sookie's ancestors being fairies and the sub plot with Sam and Luna kind of makes sense except it was sad seeing their friends shot then they got shot themselves. But when Luna's little girl changes into that little wolf cub was really cute.

Well overall I give this episode 4 True Blood's out of 5

Until next time Trubies, have a fangtastic week :)

Official Book Trailer for Masquerade by Vee Anderson

Masquerade is Book 2 in the paranormal romance series The Lilly Reed Series
True Blood Season 5 Episode 4
We'll Meet Again

Okay so first off this episode was a lot better than the last, well at least this time I didn't want to walk away and do something else. Except for the Tara parts.
To all the people who have read the books Tara isn't a prominent character and I liked that better, I just find her annoying.

But to move on I found it a little sad when Eric let Pam free. I love Pam so I hope she doesn't leave the show, she has great one liners and I know that that is the writers but Kristin Bauer van Straten delivers them perfectly.

Next does anybody else know what's going to happen here???
Well I do and I think it involes Sookie and Alcide getting freaky LOL

I've wanted them to get together since Joe Manganiello started playing him, okay well since I've read the books I always loved him but Joe plays him perfectly, plus he's super duper hot (has anyone seen Magic Mike? if not do it)

I have big hopes for this season and so far I haven't been disappointed

Also I forgot to mention that True Blood has been picked up for a 6th season. I wonder how they're going to hide Anna Paquin's pregnancy but all the best to her and Stephen Moyer on their pending little one :)

Until next week trubies, have a fangtastic week
