Movie Review - Kick Ass 2

Kick Ass 2

Kick Ass 2 takes place not too long after the first one. Hit Girl, aka Mindy, is now attending the same High School as Kick Ass, aka Dave.

But the moment after her Dad's Friend drops her off at school and he's gone she goes back to her Dad's place and continues training. Dave, who has stopped being Kick Ass, finds this out and decides that he wants to get back into the game and that he and Mindy should be a team. Mindy agrees to help him train but her Dad's friend finds out and tells her to stop. She goes back to being a normal teenager by making friends and whatever as Dave continues training. Dave puts a message online looking for other super hero's and he finds a group.

This group is filled with some wannabe's and some who can really kick ass, like Night Bitch and Colonel Stars and Stripes. As Kick Ass trains with his new group Red Mist, aka Chris D'Amico decides that he wants revenge on Kick Ass and he then becomes The Motherfucker just after he kills his mother.

The Motherfucker's only quest is to kill Kick Ass. He starts to assemble a gang of ruthless people but the worst is Mother Russia, she is crazy. The Motherfucker finds out who Kick Ass's real name is and goes after him but finds his father instead. The Motherfucker being completely ruthless hurts Kick Ass. Kick Ass, broken and bloodied, assembles the good guys and takes on The Mother Fucker and his gang.

I don't want to give too much away but this movie is not for people who do not like violence or people who can't take rude humour. I have heard a lot over my years and I can even have a pretty bad mouth some times but even the things they were saying in this movie made me blush. The movie is crazy violent. But overall I enjoyed it. It's not the violence I enjoyed or the language but I know the difference between a movie (fiction) and real life and I know some people can't see the difference.

For entertainment value Kick Ass delivers, plus it is pretty funny in some parts and other parts it pulls on your heart strings.

Kick Ass 2 get my 'V' Stamp of approval.

Movie Review - Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Okay kiddies it's round two for Percy Jackson. Coming high off his success on returning the lightening to Zeus Percy is the hot shot of camp Half Blood. Well kind of. Clarisse keeps kicking his ass. Clarisse is the daughter of Ares, the god of war and she has it in her blood. The camp Half Blood is surrounded by a barrier keeping out all beings that cause them harm but Luke, son of Hermes, who also was the Lightening thief is again the bad guy. He finds a way to break the barrier putting the kids into harm. The tree that provides this barrier was created by Zeus because his daughter was killed trying to get into Camp Half Blood because she and her friends were running from Cyclops. So the tree, aka Thalia, starts to die and the only way to save her and the barrier they need to find mythical Golden Fleece that can heal anything. Annabeth, daughter of Athena, confides in the teacher telling him about the Golden Fleece and the quest is given to Percy's arch nemesis Clarisse.

Percy with the help of Annabeth, Grover a Satyr, and Percy's half brother Tyson, who is also the son of Poseidon, and also a Cyclops, leave Camp Half Blood to find the Golden Fleece before Clarisse. The meet plenty of strange creatures and gods on their way, leading them to the final showdown between good and evil.

During the quest Percy finds out the Luke is going to use the Golden Fleece to raise Kronos, a Titan and father to all the gods, and he's not a nice guy. Not giving too much away since it's a kiddish book you know that no one is going to die but things happen just not deaths and they succeed with the help of Clarisse who they find on the way.

Overall it was an okay movie. I enjoyed the first one but I'm not a Percy Jackson fiend but I do enjoy them. There is some action and some comedic moments. It's a great movie for tweens and the young at heart. I will definitely tune in for the next installment.

I will give this movie my 'V' Stamp of approval. The only thing that would tip it over to the 'F' stamp for failure would be the fact that this movie did not need to be in 3D, there was nothing in the movie that made it necessary for 3D. So 2D gets my approval, 3D, not so much.

Movie Review - Star Trek - Into Darkness

Star Trek - Into Darkness

I am really late putting this review in and probably most people who wanted to see it have already seen it but I will still put my personal review in.

I thought it was good. Star Trek Into Darkness is a great, action packed, awesome special effects movie. I enjoyed it but it wasn't good enough to go watch again, but I will own it.

Chris Pine again does an awesome Captain Kirk. I love how he is just Kirk, I don't know how to explain it and I honestly don't know another actor who could pull it off as well as Chris does. And Simon Pegg as Scotty, well I just love Simon Pegg so he can do no wrong, ever (I am waiting patiently for To the Worlds End)

Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho

Now can someone explain to me the part that Alice Eve's character was supposed to be other than being a so called pretty face. I found her character to be annoying and just a odd filler character.

Now to go to an amazing character. Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan was phenomenal, he was amazing. I started watching Sherlock because of his performance in this movie. I was captivated by him and couldn't take my eyes off of him. Kudos Benedict for an amazing performance.

One other thing I want to mention is did anybody feel their chest tighten, or feel a little tear start to form in their eye as you watched the Enterprise falling to Earth? I will admit I did.

Overall great movie, not the best I have ever seen but a great one. Star Trek Into Darkness gets my 'V' stamp of approval.

Review of Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies

After R (a highly unusual zombie) saves Julie from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world. IMDB

Okay so the first trailer I saw for this movie I thought 'Sweet, it's been awhile since I've seen a good zombie movie'. Well this was a good zombie movie, it was cute. The beginning sequence with 'R' walking around doing his normal everyday zombie things was funny because of the narrating from him. I'm a fan of gory, action packed zombie movies (e.g Dawn of the Dead and the Resident Evil movies) so I was kind of expecting and hoping that this movie was going to be like that but it wasn't. Yeah sure there were a couple action sequences but nothing to get my heart pumping. But it was a cute so called Rom Com/Zombie flick. Another thing was watching 'R' run as a zombie was absolutely hilarious and when he was trying not to stare at Julie but he was looking creepy anyway was kind of funny too.
So the thing I was sort of confused about was 'R' was already kind of talking before he even meets Julie (which is when he starts to change). The grunting was fine because that's what we normally expect from zombie's because of their un-dead status but talking, that's a little far fetched.

Overall I thought it was a cute movie, maybe a good first date movie for couples who aren't into the mushy romance movies.

I give this movie my Vee Stamp of approval
Enjoy

Silent Hill - Revelation Review

Silent Hill - Revelation Review

Silent Hill Revelation opening today October 26th

Silent Hill Revelation takes place years after Sharon is reunited with her father. Moving from city to city hiding from the horrors that she suffered from at her last visit to Silent Hill. After her father is kidnapped by the people that want Sharron to return to Silent Hill she heads there with the help of someone she thinks she can trusts but she soon finds out he isn't who she first thought. Dealing with all the horrors and creepy creatures of Silent Hill, Sharron moves through the town searching for her father and fighting against those you want to keep her there or kill her. Finally coming against the person that holds Sharron to Silent Hill she is able to find her father but their happiness doesn't last long.

For the people who enjoy the video games and those who enjoyed the movie will, in my eyes, enjoy this movie. It had all the creepy, jerky moving, horrible looking creatures from the first one (like the Guardian in the first picture) or similar to the first one (like the nurses). There were a lot of jumps from myself and my fellow movie mates which caused a couple giggles but this movie was twisted and a little warped like the first one and that's what drew me in to watch the second movie plus the trailer looked pretty cool.
I enjoyed the first movie and it took me a couple times before I could really enjoy it because I wasn't sure at first because of how it's so twister and creepy so after I got over the creep factor I was able to enjoy the movie fully and with this one I enjoyed it right from the beginning.

So I decided that now movies that I think people should watch are now going to recieve my 'Vee' stamp of approval or a 'F' fail.
And lucky Silent Hill Revelation will recieve that approval stamp
