X-Men - Days of Future Past movie review

X-Men - Days of Future Past

Okay so I have been so super pumped for this movie since I saw the first trailer. I have loved all the previous X-Men movies and I am an old school fan, as in watching the cartoons as a child. My favourite character is Gambit and unfortunately he was not in this movie.

This movie as promising things about it. Having the younger and older versions of Magneto and Professor X would be great but... I don't know. I enjoyed the movie, I just didn't love it. But what I did love was Evan Peters as Quicksilver. He was just hilarious.

The premise of the movie is that the mutants are being hunted to extinction by the Sentinels, who were created by Bolivar Trask. The Sentinels start taking out the mutants and any humans who help the mutants. Knowing that they cannot win this war they decide to send Wolverine's consciousness back to his younger self in the 70's. They think that because Mystique kills Bolivar Trask and that starts the Sentinel program, so if they stop her from killing him that the Sentinel's never get made. Wolverine starts with Professor X and Beast, persuading them of what needs to be done the next they have to break out Magneto who is imprisoned underneath the pentagon, well Wolverine knew the only person who could break him out was Quicksilver. The escape was great then off they went to track down Mystique. After numerous attempting at trying to persuade her Magneto decides to take things into his own hands, so that means him and Professor X are back to being enemies again.

As this is happening in the past, the mutants in the future, Storm, Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Iceman, Bishop, Blink and the older versions of Magneto and Prof X are hiding from the Sentinel's who are heading their way. You also find out that Bolivar Trask uses Mystique's DNA and using it in the Sentinel's allow them to adapt to their enemies, which makes them harder to kill.

I don't want to give the ending away but things do get worked out. And you end up seeing faces that you thought you would never see again.

 Yearbook photo time

Starting to love JL as Mystique - Do Not Move!

This might sting a little

Yes I am Magneto, you should bow to my greatness. Plus I'm super hot :)

I don't really understand her gift but it looks cool

The A-Team

Will somebody just kill him already

Sentinel, future

Sentinel, past

The boys are back in town!!

Don't worry guys, I got this.

Just die already

So overall, it was good, not the best X-Men movie I've ever seen but it was still good.

Godzilla Movie Review

Godzilla

Okay so the trailers for this movie have looked pretty awesome but I have seen a ton of trailers that the movie looks promising then it blows. Well this is not one of them. I was iffy due to the last Godzilla movie, the Matthew Broderick one, was kind of bad. And I wasn't sure what to expect but damn. I could not rip my eyes from the screen, even watching it at our local theatre with it's crappy ass 3D glasses I couldn't stop watching it. It just sucks you right in. At the end of the movie I looked to my left at my friend who I with, and said 'We should just stay and watch it again.' It was that good.
I was expecting the same premise of Godzilla coming to America or wherever and destroying the city. But this was different. Godzilla is actually the good guy. He realized that the two Muto's were destroying there way across countries trying to meet up to make more Muto's and that was when Godzilla awakened. To keep the balance in the world he must destroy the Muto's and he does while the military try to kill all three of them.
The special effects were good, the actors were good, I think overall a great movie. Probably one of the best so far this year.
Wow Kick Ass, you grew up

 Together at last!!

I don't think it's a submarine

It's on the move

It's bird, it's a plane, it's Superman, nope it's a Muto

Mama Muto on the move

I have never seen a more visually appealing fall from the heavens

Hold on this might get a little wet.

Roar!!!!!! Do not fuck with Godzilla

So peeps, if you haven't watched it yet, get out there and do it. If you have, let me know what you think?

Movie Review - The Amazing Spider-man 2

Movie Review - The Amazing Spider-man 2

So for this movie I got to experience my first IMAX 3D movie. I live in a little town that has a small theatre, 6 screens I think and 2 are only equipped with 3D, but not good 3D, crappy 3D. The glasses are huge and the lenses are tiny so watching 3D there is not enjoyable. So that is why I/We go out of town, better screens, better 3D, comfier seats.

Okay so the movie was okay. I'm a Spider-man fan but I am not familiar with the whole Amazing Spider-man story, just the regular Spider-man. I know that the characters are somewhat similar, Aunt May, Harry Osbourn but in The Amazing Spiderman, Peter's love interest is Gwen Stacy not Mary-Jane Watson. I always felt the Spider-man movies with Toby Maguire were comparable to the Batman movies from the 90's, kind of cartoony and entertaining. Now I will admit I did not go to the movies to watch the first Amazing Spider-man. I was hesitant about Andrew Garfield as Spidey, but by the end of the second movie I'm starting to like him more and more, he just has that awkward thing about him, he kind of reminds me of a younger Matt Smith from Doctor Who.

The movie was entertaining and I loved Electro, I don't know if I enjoyed Jamie Fox as Electro but the character was pretty cool, all the special effects were pretty crazy and watching it on the IMAX screen I think made a huge difference. I think they should have left it with only one villain but they had to introduce two more and by doing that they left it open for the next movie.

Peter and Harry, or is that a young Leo Dicaprio, kinda looks like it

He's not a gold digger but he's a little obsessed with Spidey

Can you feel the electricity in the air?

Hey Gwen, watch your landing

Hey is that you Paul Giamatti?

There you are Green Goblin

So overall if you are a Spider-man fan, watch it, you'll probably enjoy it. If you aren't a Spidey fan check it our for the awesome special effects. It's not the best movie I've seen lately, Captain America The Winter Soldier, but it's a good comic book movie.
